Further Success For Invicibles At National Cup Competition

A talented local football team is celebrating further success at the Edinburgh International Cup following its recent Invincible season.

Greenock Morton U10’s Girls Squad delivered dominant performances throughout the season, blending attacking flair with defensive resilience in what has been a remarkable run of form and took this into the capital competition on Saturday 2nd August 2025.

The Edinburgh International Cup, recognised as the largest youth football tournament in the UK, attracts thousands of youth footballers and families from across the UK and beyond to Edinburgh and took place over the weekend.

The team, led by coaches Gary Dewar, Ewan Buchanan, Christian Ashurst, and Sam Magee, played 5 games, winning three and drawing two to remain unbeaten against teams from as far as Ayr and Glenrothes. All of the results of the 20 minute games are outlined below:

  • Morton 4-0 Glenrothes

  • Morton 1 - 1 Ayr United

  • Morton 3-3 Formatine United

  • Morton 2-0 Renfrew U12s

  • Morton 3-1 Glenrothes FCC
