Bowman Rebecchi Presents Terraza Del Clyde Welcomes More Than 1,500 Festival Goers
The sun has set on another year of Terraza Del Clyde festival after more than 1,500 music lovers flocked to Fort Matilda over the weekend.
Now in its fifth year, the event returned to Greenock Wanderers Rugby Club for three days of live music from local artists and Scottish chart toppers.
The festival – presented by Bowman Rebecchi – kicked off with sets from local bands Bone Idle Brothers and The Rants on Friday, before headliner Calum Bowie took to the stage. Around a thousand people attended on Saturday, with Inverclyde’s own Sovirez brining the main stage alive.
A set from Ben Walker followed, ahead of Cammy Barnes’ performance on Saturday night. On Sunday, festival organiser and DJ Bruce Glenny closed out a busy weekend in a ‘back to back’ set with Nick McDougall.
The day three line-up also featured sets from Juanito Chanclas, Dylan McPhee and Ronnie Pacitti.
Bruce, told the Tele: "I loved it and I just can’t believe it’s over. I’m feeling every emotion under the sun today.
"I think this year just took it to a whole new level in terms of a local festival. People are now loving it so much that they want to see it come back every year.
"The weather was amazing. It rained a wee bit on Friday, but nobody cared. Somebody said to me that no matter where you looked, everyone was smiling. That’s what it’s all about. That’s why we do it."
The team behind Terraza Del Clyde expanded their offering this year by catering for families for the first time.
A small funfair was on offer over the weekend, as well as a face painting stall.
This year also saw the introduction of a Disco Decker Bus, sponsored by McGill’s, which hosted further DJ sets during the festival.
As well as entertaining hundreds over the three-day festival, Bruce and his team created work experience roles for local students.
Erin Morrison, from Gourock, was one of those who secured a placement.
She said: “As part of my HND in marketing, PR and advertising, I reached out for a placement with Bowman Rebecchi and Terraza Del Clyde.
"I couldn’t believe when I was successful and to top it off I was given the opportunity to work with the Terraza Del Clyde planning and delivery team.
“Being witness to the background work and actually playing a part in the event has been so valuable.
“Thank you to Bowman Rebecchi plus Bruce and Cara from Summers Friends Productions for what was a great learning experience.”
Bruce thanked Bowman Rebecchi and Cherry Blossom Events, as well as sponsors Brow House, McGill's, Shipyard Gin and Purdie's for their support.
A portion of the booking fees from all tickets sold for the festival is to be passed on to Ardgowan Hospice, with multiple performers also choosing to donate their fee to the charity.
