Nearly 22,000 people attended the production of Sleeping Beauty at Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock.

The 2025 pantomime exceeded its original audience target of 21,000, with record ticket sales.

Audience feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many people already asking when tickets for the next pantomime, Cinderella, will go on sale.

Karen Townsend, co-director at Beacon Arts Centre, said: “We are over the moon with how this year’s pantomime was received. For many people, pantomime is their first experience of live theatre, and it was wonderful to hear so many happy voices in the building.

“This is the largest audience we’ve had for a panto since opening the Beacon, and we’re thrilled to see attendance growing year on year.”

The majority of the audience is families from Inverclyde, nearly 60 per cent, but attendance from elsewhere continues to grow, with people travelling from Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Dunbartonshire.

Bowman Rebecchi is a proud sponsor of the 2025 pantomime, continuing its long-term relationship with the Beacon Arts Centre.

Speaking of the new sponsorship, Andrew Bowman, Director at Bowman Rebecchi said: “The quality and calibre of the cast and production by the Beacon over the past few years in particular has been superb and we can proudly say we have a national calibre production right here in Inverclyde.

“With 22,000 tickets sold last year alone, it is clear to see the rising popularity of the pantomime, which provides Bowman Rebecchi a superb opportunity to raise our profile with the attendees through this unique sponsorship.

“We look forward to next year’s show and wish all of the cast and crew every success for Cinderella.”

Tickets for the 2026 pantomime, Cinderella, go on sale at 10am on Friday 23 January.
