A generous DJ has raised vital funds for a lifeline local charity through his annual Terraza Del Clyde music festival.

More than 1,500 music lovers flocked to Fort Matilda to enjoy three days of live music from chart topping artists including Calum Bowie and Cammy Barnes.

This year the festival teamed up with Ardgowan Hospice and raised more than £1,600 to support those with life limiting illnesses and their families.

Bruce said: "We are delighted to be teaming up with the hospice. It is an important charity and we want to do what we can to help. The Terraza Del Clyde was a great success and gets bigger every year. We now want to keep going and build on our partnership with the hospice."

Together with fellow organiser Dylan McFadyen, Bruce recently handed over a cheque for £1,637 to hospice fundraising manager Joanna Hunter.

She said: "It is brilliant that so many people are going along to a festival in Inverclyde and having a great time, and raising money for the hospice. It means so much to us and I would like to thank Bruce and his team for all their support!"

Terraza Del Clyde's fifth edition at Greenock Wanderers Rugby Club drew large crowds to Greenock at the end of May.

The festival, presented by Bowman Rebecchi - kicked off with sets from local bands Bone Idle Brothers and The Rants on Friday, before headliner Calum Bowie took to the stage.

The team behind Terraza Del Clyde also opened up the event to families for the first time.

A funfair was on offer over the weekend, as well as a face painting stall, and food and drink vendors.

There was also an introduction of a Disco Decker Bus, sponsored by McGill’s, which hosted further DJ sets during the festival.

As well as entertaining hundreds over the three-day festival, Bruce and his team created work experience roles for local students.
