Port Glasgow Storage Unit Plan Given Permission

Councillors have approved proposals to build storage units at a disused yard.
An application by Vortex Scotland Ltd to for three units at Newark Street, Port Glasgow, at the foot of Clune Brae, was considered by Inverclyde Planning Board today and unanimously given the go-ahead.
Officials had recommended approval, stating in their report: “The proposal will be sited in close proximity to other business and industrial uses, will present new opportunities for local employment through the growth of local business and will allow for an existing local employer to remain within the local area.
“The proposal will also bring a long-standing brownfield site back into active use.”
No public objections had been received.
