Plan To Develop Gourock Gap Site Is Approved
Permission has been given for a residential and retail development at a gap site in central Gourock.
Inverclyde planning officials have agreed to proposals by Clydesdale Properties for nine flats and a shop unit at 53 Shore Street.
There will be a mixture of one and two-bedroom properties, with lift access to all floors.
The proposal does not include off-street vehicle parking but relies on the current on-street provision instead.
A design statement included with the application explained: “The gap site can be infilled to meet the current high demand for quality residential accommodation.”
A previous attempt to get permission was refused by Inverclyde Council in March last year.
Officials said the applicant had not shown that the development would not have an adverse impact on flood risk as an independently checked flood and drainage assessment had not been supplied. The new application included a flood risk assessment.
Planning permission was previously granted - in 2017 - for eight flats at the site and in 2010 for nine flats.
The site was previously sold by Bowman Rebecchi as part of our ongoing role in supporting commercial property activity across Inverclyde.
