Nominations Now Open For Inverclyde's Best Home 2025
The Greenock Telegraph is launching a search for Inverclyde’s Best Home 2025.
We want to hear from homeowners who take pride in their property. Do you have a beautifully designed space, a cherished property that you have carefully crafted, or a home full of character that deserves to be celebrated? Then we want to hear from you.
We want to feature a variety of homes. Perhaps you have a stylish new-build? Or a traditional home which you’ve painstakingly upgraded over the years? All homes are welcome.
Inverclyde is an amazing place to live, and we want to champion the area by showcasing some of its top properties – alongside the homeowners – before crowning one as Inverclyde’s Best Home 2025.
Gillian Murphy, Group Editor at the Greenock Telegraph, said: “There is something so satisfying about getting a sneak peek inside someone’s home and being inspired by their building and design choices.
“We also love hearing people’s stories about their homes: how long they’ve lived there, how their family has grown up there, and hear about all the wee changes they’ve made to their much-loved property over the years.
“Many homes are a labour of love, and we're looking forward to featuring a variety of properties which are much-loved and full of life.
“I enjoy seeing what a home is to someone – and that’s what this project will let us share.
“We’re relying on the people of Inverclyde to open their homes and hearts to us and share a piece of their lives.
“This is a great chance to show off the amazing homes – and people – we have here, while championing Inverclyde.”
Awards
Nominations are open now and close on May 21, at which point the Telegraph will showcase all the beautiful entrants.
The public will vote for their favourite homes, which will be featured in detail alongside interviews with the homeowners.
We want to hear directly from the proud homeowners who will share details on what their home means to them.
Once we’ve whittled down the finalists to a top three, it is over to our expert judges who will visit the best homes.
Our overall winner will then be crowned Inverclyde’s Best Home 2025.
Judges
Our top industry judges are Marco Rebecchi, of Rebecchi Architectural and Bowman Rebecchi, Fiona McArthur and Mariessa Devlin.
Marco Rebecchi
Gourock-born Marco began his career with a local architectural practice aged just 17. Over the next 20 years, he rose through the ranks to director level, gaining a wealth of experience and industry insight along the way.
In 2013, he founded Rebecchi Architectural, an independent practice dedicated to supporting clients with a wide range of projects - from small home extensions, to bespoke new builds, and large-scale commercial developments.
Building on this strong foundation, architectural technologist Marco partnered with Andrew Bowman in 2020 to launch Bowman Rebecchi – Inverclyde's Home of Property.
The company specialises in residential and commercial sales and lettings, and also offers factoring services.
Marco, 47, said: "I'm excited to be part of this competition. It's a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the incredible variety of homes that exist right here in Inverclyde.”
Entrepreneur Fiona helped her parents launch a UK-wide wholesale business from their shop, Ulla, in Greenock before launching on her own estate agency. Now she’s at the helm of a growing team of eight.
The business began on Brougham Street in Greenock, then opened officially in John Street in Gourock in May 2021.
Fiona, 34, has worked tirelessly to expand her knowledge of the property market and is a qualified estate agent, qualified letting agent, and qualified mortgage and protection broker.
Fiona said: “This competition is a brilliant way to show off what makes Inverclyde such a unique and welcoming place to live.”
Kilmacolm-based businesswoman Mariessa previously owned five nurseries - including two Enchanted Forest Nurseries - in Inverclyde between 2006 and 2019.
She later re-trained and qualified as an interior designer, and her clients include the likes of Cardwell Garden Centre and Globe Homes.
The 48-year-old has also personal experience of extensively re-designing her own home after buying a period property in 2022.
Mariessa said: "For me the competition is the perfect way to showcase Inverclyde at its best.
"From an interior design perspective, people can absolutely be inspired by other people's homes, they can find them aspirational and then translate ideas into their own home.”
The winner will be gifted £500 in John Lewis vouchers and a house portrait by an artist.
Proud homeowners who wish to show off their fantastic households should enter here before the May 21 deadline.
