McGill’s Bus Group Becomes Corporate Partner of Charity Transaid
McGill’s Bus Group has become a corporate partner of Transaid. It joins more than 30 other such supporters in sharing time, expertise and resources to back the charity’s work on road safety and access to healthcare projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
The initial three-year collaboration builds on McGill’s sponsorship of the 2026 Scottish Transaid Dinner at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa near Grangemouth on 4 June. It also furthers the charity’s long association with the passenger transport sector.
Speaking about the decision to open the partnership, McGill’s Bus Group Chairman Ralph Roberts (pictured) says: “We are really looking forward to getting involved in all of Transaid’s events and fundraisers, especially the dinner, which is set to be a highly of the industry calendar.
“It is very clear that the work carried out by Transaid and its local partners is making a tangible difference in sub-Saharan Africa, and we are excited to help in any way we can.”
Transaid Chair, former Traffic Commissioner for Scotland and routeone Awards judge Joan Aitken has thanked the independently-owned McGill’s for its support.
“McGill’s Bus Group’s commitment to innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to transform lives through safe, available transport,” she says. “Bringing on board such a prominent name in passenger transport to sponsor the Scottish Transaid Dinner is a tremendous honour – to now welcome it as a corporate partner is a milestone moment.
“This kind of support is essential to making our programmes so successful and reflects Transaid’s wish to involve more transport operators and their people in supporting our work.”
Tickets to this year’s Scottish Transaid Dinner remain available at £1,000 for a table of 10, or individually at £100. McGill’s Bus Group joins RHA, Logistics UK and The Malcolm Group in sponsoring the event. All sales and sponsorship enquiries should be directed to Lynsey Craik via email.
