Career Ready Internship Blog - Hear From Kassey-Leigh Masterson
Inverclyde’s Home of Property - Bowman Rebecchi has welcomed a new intern as part of its partnership with Career Ready, a national social mobility charity that supports young people to get into work.
The programme provides support to young people as they transition from S5 into S6 with a paid month-long internship alongside 18 months of mentoring support from the business.
The property firm welcomed Kassey-Leigh Masterson as our new intern for 2024-25, with the internship taking place across July 2025 based at Bowman Rebecchi’s offices in Gourock.
Kassey-Leigh shares her insight into the experience with her blog below:
“When I found out I was paired with Bowman Rebecchi through Career Ready, I was delighted and ready to learn everything that my mentors Kathleen and Andrew had to share about the company.
“When the 4-week internship finally came around, I was nervous at first, but the team welcomed me and answered any questions I had about the different roles here at Bowman Rebecchi.
“Kathleen took me out to viewings and evaluations, showed me how to reply to emails and how to use the different software systems that the teams use to support the day-to-day delivery to our clients.
“Watching Kathleen interact with customers was something that inspired me as she approached every job confidently and positively, which is something I will continue to do through out my day-to-day roles.
“The Rebecchi Architectural team also gave me an insight into what software they use and how to draw up floor plans and elevations on AutoCAD. Tom Semple and Ryan Kelly have really helped me over the past four weeks.
“Tom guided me through the software packages and how to draw up floor plans and elevations. Ryan included me in jobs, showing me how to gather measurements on a property and how to then convert these into drawings.
“The encouragement from the Architectural team has helped me realise that Architecture is the career that I want to pursue. As I watched how the team works, I took into consideration the creativity and perseverance needed within the roles of Architecture.
“I also had the opportunity to attend a job with Andrew, one of my other mentors, who showed me how to film a video for their socials and the marketing of a property. Andrew answered any questions I had and set up tasks for me to complete throughout my time here to further my knowledge.
“I also had the chance to attend checkouts with Katy Stummer, the Inventory Administrator. I learned that Katy’s job isn’t as easy as it seems, but she taught me how to handle a checkout and how she deals with tenants with respect and positivity.
“I want to thank the whole team at Bowman Rebecchi for taking me on over the past month and showing me what each individual role includes to create a team.
I also want to say thanks to Marco and the Architectural team, as I now know exactly what I want to pursue after I finish high school.
“I am very grateful to my mentors Kathleen and Andrew for leading me through the past few months and the internship. I thank them for helping me build my confidence which was my main goal at the start of the Career Ready Programme.”
All of the team at Bowman Rebecchi wish Kassey-Leigh well with her future journey and congratulate her on the comlpletion of her internship with us.
